Privacy policy
1. Information we collect
We collect your email address when you place an order, along with the property address you search for. We also collect payment information which is processed securely by our payment provider.
2. How we use your information
We use your information solely to process and deliver your document orders, communicate about your order status, and provide customer support.
3. Data security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. Payment details are processed via secure, PCI-compliant payment providers.
4. Data retention
We retain your order information for as long as necessary to fulfil our service obligations and comply with legal requirements.
5. Visitor analytics
When you visit our website, we automatically collect anonymised technical data including your IP address, the pages you visit, your browser type, referring website, and approximate country. This data is used solely for website analytics, security monitoring, and service improvement. We do not use this data to identify individual users or share it with third parties. This processing is carried out under our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving our services.
6. Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use a small number of essential cookies and browser storage entries to operate checkout, process payments and remember your cookie preference. These are always active.
With your consent (given via our cookie banner), we also use:
- Google Ads (AW-18018437117) - enhanced conversions. Measures which advertising campaigns lead to completed orders. We use Google's Consent Mode v2, so no advertising cookies are set until you accept. With your consent we send Google a SHA-256 hash of your order email so a completed purchase can be matched to your ad click. We never send the plaintext email, your name, phone number or postal address.
- Datafast analytics - first-party visitor analytics that help us understand which pages and search terms lead to orders. Anonymous and aggregated.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. If you reject advertising cookies, our checkout, payment, confirmation page and emails will continue to work exactly the same - only the marketing measurement is disabled.
6a. Optional Google Customer Match (separate consent at checkout)
Separately from cookie consent, at checkout you may tick an unticked optional box marked "Help us show more relevant ads…". If - and only if - you tick that box, we will periodically upload a SHA-256 hash of your email address to Google Ads as part of Google's Customer Match programme.
What this means in plain English:
- Google receives a one-way mathematical hash of your email, never the plaintext email itself.
- We never share your name, postal address, phone number, payment details, or anything about the property you searched for.
- Google uses the hash only to match you to your Google account (if you have one) so that future ads from us shown to you on Google services are more relevant, and so Google can build "similar audience" segments of new prospective customers.
- Ticking the box is entirely optional. It does not affect your price, your order, your delivery time or your documents in any way.
- We record the date and time you gave consent so we have an auditable record (a UK GDPR requirement).
Lawful basis: your explicit consent under Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR, given by ticking the checkbox at checkout.
Withdrawing consent: email support@landregistrygb.co.uk and we will remove your hashed email at Google's next list refresh. You can also withdraw directly with Google by signing out of personalised ads in your Google account settings.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at support@landregistrygb.co.uk for any data-related requests.
